When ECON Gesellschaft für Osteuropa-Logistik Internationale Spedition mbH was
founded in 1995 in Essen the break up of the Soviet Union had taken place just four
years before. In logistics terms western Europe was just around the corner, but
cargo transport into the former Soviet republics was not quite so routine. However,
new territority attracts the true pioneers: it did not take long for a number of medium-
sized freight forwarders and logistics companies to pool their resources into the
ECON Group to bring about direct connections to the eastern European markets.
Today ECON stands for reliable freight connections from all over western Europe into
and out of the eastern European and central Asian business area. We have
comprehensive competence centres in both Moscow and St. Petersburg. You can
easily send your cargo, either duty-paid or duty-unpaid, to any consignee throughout
Russia. Our pioneering spirit was rewarded and and can be still seen in our work
today.
